DTU's central working environment and preparedness function in Kgs. Lyngby is looking for a dedicated person who can take on the role of Emergency Manager for DTU. 

DTU has 13,500 students and 6,000 employees, which unfold in facilities across a large number of locations in Denmark and Greenland. Our building mass covers over 600,000 m², which accommodates very varied uses for everything from offices and auditoriums, to state-of-the-art laboratories, wind tunnels, soundproof rooms, etc.

Tasks and area of responsibility

In the position of Emergency Manager, we expect you to bring your preparedness professional background into play and work holistically with strategic and framework-setting tasks, and deliver a high professional level. 

You can access and manage the authority's services and support compliance with applicable legislation. You contribute to creating the best framework for prevention and handling of unwanted incidents, recovery and continued operation.

You have experience in preparing/revising emergency plans, risk-based dimensioning, risk analysis, including emergency and security risk assessments, etc.

You create a structured framework and access to knowledge and learning, including planning and holding internal teaching and exercises, etc.

You coordinate and drive cross-organizational capacity building through, among other things, network.

You can, for example, be trained as a disaster and risk manager or have experience with authority work in the municipal emergency response. 

It is important that you have experience with: 
Contingency planning and methodology (policies, programmes, plans, instructions and exercises).
Preparedness and security advice for DTU's university units.
Risk and vulnerability analyses.
Fire legislation and other personal safety.
Handling of sudden incidents and coordination of efforts internally and with authorities.

You enjoy working independently, can maintain an overview and navigate in a large organization. You strive for a high professional level and are able to translate your professional knowledge into concrete, result-creating actions, which ensures high quality in the task solution.

You show independence and dynamism, and you make effective decisions in tasks and cases, often in consultation with colleagues and stakeholders. You communicate openly, without prejudice and respectfully with colleagues, business partners and management.

We expect you to be able to communicate and convey messages in both Danish and English, both orally and in writing.

Salary and terms of employment

Salary and terms of employment in accordance with the collective agreement for academics in the state or other relevant collective agreement. The position is for 37 hours and is wanted to be filled as soon as possible.
