Do you want to help ensure citizens' safety in the event of accidents and emergencies? As a part-time firefighter, you get a meaningful role with responsibility, initiative and a strong community. About us: The Emergency Management Agency operates, in collaboration with the Bornholm Fire Service, the fire station in Allinge, which is one of three fire stations on Bornholm. All firefighters in Allinge are part-time and therefore contribute to the fire station alongside their primary occupation. We are a mixed bunch, both in terms of age, gender and seniority. At the moment we are around 15 firefighters - that's why we need a few more good colleagues! Around 50-70 times a year, we are called to urgent tasks. We solve everything from fires and traffic accidents to environmental accidents and drowning accidents. About the position: As a part-time firefighter, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the safety of others. There will be situations that you must be prepared to deal with, but at the same time you will help to ensure a safe everyday life for the citizens. We are alerted via pager and must be able to meet at the fire station so that the emergency vehicles have left the station no later than 5 minutes after the alert. At present, we are not part of a fixed shift arrangement, but meet when we have the opportunity. Your primary duties will include: Participating as a firefighter in emergencies. Participate as a surface rescuer in emergencies when you have received local training. Participate in the re-establishment and preparation of vehicles after emergencies. Participate in 12 mandatory maintenance exercises, which are primarily on weekday evenings of 2-3 hours duration. To the extent possible and necessary, participate in meetings and other activities regarding emergency preparedness in district Allinge. About you: You have passed functional training efforts. You have maintained your education as far as possible, cf. the regulations. If you have a driving license for category C, it is preferable. You do not suffer from fear of heights, fear of water or claustrophobia, as you can get into situations where this should not be an obstacle to solving the task. You must have residence and/or workplace within a geographical area that enables you to meet at the fire station in Allinge (Rønnevej 5C, 3770 Allinge) and leave with the emergency team no later than 5 minutes after the alarm. This is assessed in connection with an employment interview. You are professional and collaborate well with both management and colleagues. If you have not maintained your functional training efforts, you must be willing to complete a shorter competence clarification process before you can participate in emergencies as a firefighter. It is a good idea to involve those close to you, as well as your employer, to get their support before you sign up as a firefighter. Terms of employment: Employment takes place on an individual contract, where salary is negotiated individually according to qualifications. There is an opportunity to negotiate a supplement in relation to your qualifications for the position. As an employee, you are covered by some special conditions.
