We are looking for a skilled and committed IT system administrator with strong technical skills to monitor the daily operation and administration of our data platform, EnergyDataDK, which provides real-time insight into energy systems. In this key role, you will ensure that our IT infrastructure and systems operate smoothly and in accordance with strict IT security requirements, while providing technical support. 
You will have the opportunity to leave your mark on the procedures and structures around IT operations, contribute to our continued development in the area and you can look forward to participating in exciting IT projects, IT committees together with other colleagues in PowerLabDK and at the entire DTU Wind and Energy System.
PowerLabDK (DTU Lyngby and Risø) is organizationally part of DTU Wind and Energy Systems and focuses on research and further development of future energy solutions. The future is far more data-driven and this can be in conjunction with physical components such as electric cars, battery technology, wind turbine components, high-voltage equipment and new intelligent electricity consumption units. 
As an IT system administrator in PowerLabDK, your primary task will be ensuring the daily operation of EnergyDataDK (EDDK), however, over time there will also be other IT systems in PowerLabDK that you can help operate.
The ambition is to develop the EDDK platform to be able to handle even more devices and even greater amounts of data, support more research projects, while meeting high IT security requirements, e.g. aligned with the NIS2 directive.
Components and technologies used in EnergyDataDK are, for example, Minio S3, Kafka, VerneMQ and TimescaleDB, which is why it would be an advantage to have knowledge of these as well as scripting and automation tools, but not a requirement.  
On a daily basis, you will be part of the PowerLabDK team, consisting of approx. 20 employees and students who are responsible for the facilities – software as well as hardware – which is why your colleagues have a mixed professional background within e.g. software development, product ownership, electronics, engineering, project management and automation technology. 
The job

The primary areas of responsibility as an IT system administrator in PowerLabDK are:
Monitor the daily operation of EnergyDataDK and ensure optimal performance and reliability. Handling incidents and problems.
Perform routine maintenance and updates to ensure the system is secure and up-to-date. 
Implement and monitor security measures to protect data and systems from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
Work with developers to implement new releases and improve system functionality.
Work together with DTU Research IT, e.g. on backup configurations. 
Provide technical support to internal users.
Preparation of documentation for IT processes and configurations

Relevant education in information technology. 
Strong knowledge and experience in IT operations, particularly in server and application administration, system monitoring, performance optimization and database management systems.

Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills. 
Proficient in both Linux and Windows server operating systems. 
Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL. 
Experience with Dev-Ops. 
Knowledge of agile work processes 
Strong communication and collaboration skills in English and Danish.

Salary and terms of employment

Salary and employment conditions according to either the LC/CO10 collective agreement and organizational agreement for IT employees (Prosa) in the service of the state, collective agreement for academics in the state or other relevant collective agreement.
The salary for this position will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, in accordance with DTU's salary scales. 
The working hours are 37 hours per week, with a proposed start date of 1 June 2025, which can be adjusted to accommodate the right candidate's availability. 
The primary workplace will be at DTU Lyngby Campus, Building 329, with occasional work at DTU Risø.
