Job Description

We are looking for a health assistant who has the courage for a long-term employment in the Greenlandic Health Service. We prefer permanent employment, but we are also open to temps of six months' duration. We can offer employment from 1 April 2025 or by agreement. A little about K1 We offer an orthopedic surgery bed ward with 18 beds and with a focus on development and a good working environment and a staff with different cultural backgrounds. We primarily have orthopedic surgery patients with acute, subacute and elective procedures from all over Greenland. There are patients with knee and hip alloplasty in standardized care procedures, where we work closely with physio and occupational therapists and in particular doctors. We have ear-nose-throat surgical patients in acute, elective and palliative care. To a lesser extent, we receive patients with dental jaw problems. In addition, we treat various wounds (decubitus, venous wounds, infectious wounds, arteriosclerotic and diabetic wounds with amputation course), as well as burns/frostbite, which gives a very wide spectrum of diagnoses. In addition to the above specialties, we also take care of patients who are admitted for observation for commotio or other cerebral or cervical damage caused by trauma. So if you have the courage to work in a department with a broad specialism, as well as increase development, then K1 is a good place for you. The form of care in the department is assigned care, consisting of nurses and health assistants, with the connection of the wound care clinic and receiving acute patients. This means that as a healthcare assistant you can provide patient care, medication administration and ward visits to non-critical or complex patients. At the K1 department, we focus on teamwork, so you will not work alone and can always count on receiving support and help from other colleagues.
