A LITTLE ABOUT ME: I am a young man, I mean myself, aged 62, live in my own house in Aabybro and I was diagnosed with ALS on [phone removed]. I am open minded and open about my illness.
I am married to Charlotte, 46 years old, she works as a teacher and is also part of the team. We are a family of 5 at home, as Charlotte's children aged 12, 13 and 16 also live here. I myself have 2 adult children aged 31 and 37.
We bought our house in January 2021 and we renovated most of it ourselves, until my diagnosis, after which we made handicap-friendly fittings and changes, got the necessary aids and constantly tried to be at the forefront of the development of the disease. Fortunately, my version of ALS progresses slowly, says the medical team I am associated with.
I work a few hours a week (primarily from home) as a construction technical employee/consultant at Jammerbugt Municipality's Property Center, where I help with the purchase and demolition of the dilapidated houses in the municipality and the sale of the empty lots. Charlotte and I have a small leisure company where we carry out environmental screening of buildings to be demolished, mainly at weekends, Charlotte does the practical work, I talk and do the reports on my PC. As a helper, you will also have to drive me to work and participate in screening and help with secretarial functions.
I have an active free time, we go to choir every Wednesday and sing at concerts.
I have ridden a motorcycle and can e.g. like to come to Dragrace at Mosten MC and motorcycle events in general, just as we visit friends, go to concerts and the Nibe festival and go out to eat as much as possible.
We play a lot of board games, both with the children and/or with the helpers and generally enjoy relaxing with a good series on TV.
I am wheeled around in a work chair at home and otherwise sit in an electric wheelchair when we go out. Otherwise, we have aids for moving.
I need practical help, you must be my arms and legs to the extent that I cannot do it myself, however, I would like to try to do as much as I can myself before I need help. You must help with personal hygiene, I have a flush/dry toilet at home, so I can do that myself, but you must help with e.g. toilet visits when we are out. I pee in a flask.
I use a mask respirator when I sleep or lie down, so you must keep an eye on me and help me put the mask on and off and help me in and out of bed.
We go to bed late, so I like to sleep/rest for 1-3 hours in the morning and afternoon, so that I can be fresh in the evening.
I need massage and stretching of my joints and missing muscles, this will also be part of your daily work tasks.
You must have a driving license and be able to drive my disabled bus and then there are various household duties, cleaning, washing dishes, laundry, preparing dinner, light gardening etc. which must be arranged, where we expect it to come naturally and you can take care of it yourself and finally there are children who have to go to leisure activities.
JOB DESCRIPTION: You will become part of the best team. The shifts will be on duty 365 days a year on both weekdays and weekends, primarily divided into 10 and 14 hour shifts. You must be ready to work on weekdays, weekends and public holidays. You must be part of the joint team, where it is important that you are flexible, as we cover for each other. We can offer an exciting and flexible everyday life.
Our team primarily consists of girls/women aged 21 – 35, so in order to fit into the team best it would be obvious if you are in the same age group (but not a requirement), you are responsible, can act discreetly and be punctual with meeting times, be committed to the work, but most importantly, that you have a good mood, just as chemistry is everything.
It is also important that you can be flexible if illness or the like occurs, which is why you must have your own car or live just around the corner. You must be structured and careful.
You become part of the family, but we also need private family time or there will be times when I don't need you, when you can retreat to the office, which is furnished with an armchair, with the possibility to go on the Internet or read a good book.
QUALIFICATIONS:

No smoking (at least on duty)
Likes to play board games (I can beat you in Partners)
Has humor (preferably black) and a twinkle in the eye
Driving license B and not afraid to drive the bus (there is a reversing camera😊)
Have respect for working in a private home
High standard of hygiene
Independent
Flexible
