Do you want to help set the strategic direction for Denmark's security and defense policy? Then you have the opportunity now, as we are looking for a colleague who can contribute to exactly this. About us Europe and Denmark are in a new security policy reality, and the Danish defense is undergoing a comprehensive strategic change that entails a historic strengthening. In the Ministry of Defence's Department for Security and Operations, it is our responsibility to ensure compliance with the strategic direction of the government and the Minister of Defense for Denmark's security and defense policy. We work to develop international collaborations and partnerships that support Denmark's security and that protect our values. Among other things, we are responsible for developing and managing the defense policy in NATO, the Nordic defense cooperation (NORDEFCO), the Arctic and the North Atlantic, as well as the bilateral cooperation with allied nations. About the position You will become a new case manager in the International Relations office, which actively handles and develops Denmark's footprint, influence and cooperation in a number of Denmark's most important alliances and bilateral cooperation, including NATO. You will work closely with your colleagues in the office, the rest of the ministry and our other partners. The cases are often complex and involve coordination internally as well as externally, which is why you will be in close contact with other ministries, other countries and the NATO staff. The position is based in the Department of the Ministry of Defense in Copenhagen, but travel may occur in connection with international meeting activity. Tasks will be assigned on the basis of competences and may involve the following: · Contribute to ensuring compliance with the government's strategic interests for Denmark's security and defense policy in NATO, e.g. by giving instructions to the Danish delegation. · Contribute to cross-cutting security policy matters, including e.g. agreements under the auspices of the defense agreement, where NATO's expectations of Denmark are central. · Handle country responsibilities for allied nations, including developing and strengthening bilateral relations and collaborations. · Contribute to speeches and presentations on defense and security policy. About you We imagine that you have either completed a master's degree in a relevant field of study or are an officer and have completed MMS or equivalent. In addition, you have relevant work experience where you have worked with security and defense policy in e.g. the central administration. In order to succeed in the positions, it is important that you: · Are independent and proactively take responsibility for your own work areas. · Has a well-developed political understanding, and can see contexts and opportunities in your own area. · Has good collaboration skills and manages to prioritize cases in coordination with other ministerial areas and subordinate authorities · Is an innovative civil servant and thrives on cases in a political cross-pressure with a great need for coordination · Can equip the decision-makers in the best way possible by conveying complex professional content in a simple and easy-to-understand way in writing and speaking in English and Danish. Terms of employment You are a trained academic and will be employed and remunerated according to the academic agreement in force at any time between the Ministry of Finance and academics in the state. In addition, depending on qualifications, it will be possible to negotiate supplements. An employer-funded pension scheme of 17.1% is attached to the position. If you are an officer from the Norwegian Armed Forces or the National Emergency Management Agency, employment will be possible according to the protocol on officers under the Ministry of Defense to the collective agreement applicable at any time for academics in the state. The placement will be in salary group four or five depending on your qualifications. If you are a captain/lieutenant captain, and are working on or enrolled in MMS, and otherwise have the right profile, we would also like to hear from you. You will therefore have to enter into a training agreement and contest the position by function in a higher position.
