Job Description
Do you have technical insight into the PtX area or interest and the prerequisites to get it? Then we need you in the Danish Energy Agency's unit for hydrogen and green fuels, where we are looking for PtX experts of the future. The position is a temporary maternity leave that runs from [June 2025 to and including June 2026] About the job Power-to-X and green hydrogen is an area of rapid technical, economic and political development, most recently with a political agreement from February to make a hydrogen pipeline to Germany possible in the year 2030. We work on that task every day in the unit for hydrogen and green fuels in the Danish Energy Agency, where we are a number of PtX experts gathered. PtX has threads out into many parts of the energy system, and we work with all parts of the value chain from hydrogen production, transport, use. We also focus on the interaction with the rest of the energy system - for example with offshore wind and fuel production. Therefore, we are looking for a professionally strong profile who is interested in PtX and wants to become our new PtX expert, both on the technical side and on how the technique interacts with the regulations in the field. You will have an important role as one of the unit's technical employees, who must keep the professional standard high in the work of paving the way for a new supply sector in Denmark. Together with your colleagues, we need you to help with: Assist the unit's generalists, economists and lawyers with a technical understanding of PtX technologies and the energy system in connection with the preparation of analyses, political solutions and legislative proposals. Understand the connection between technical aspects of PtX technologies and rules for production and use of fuels – both national and from the EU. Collection of knowledge about existing and planned PtX facilities Provide technical input to inquiries from companies, municipalities and the ministry's department Maintain professional knowledge of the technology and technological development About you You are an engineer, energy planner, cand. scientist or similar with insight into the PtX area or the energy system in general and possibly the different types of legislation surrounding the sector. Regardless of whether you are newly qualified or experienced, you are enthusiastic about building a new sector and have a great desire to gain new knowledge. You do not need to be able to solve all the tasks from the first day, but we expect you to: be able to get to the heart of professionally complex issues and analyses, have extensive knowledge of PtX technologies or the energy system from study or relevant work experience, be good at formulating technical knowledge briefly and precisely in writing and orally in Danish, so that a layperson can understand that you are proactive, outgoing and outgoing in your work, and can structure your work and prioritize your time sensibly. In addition, it is an advantage if you have: insight into the commercial value chains for PtX a good network in the industry experience from the civil service or another politically controlled organisation. About us The Unit for Hydrogen and Green Fuels is part of the Center for Electrification based in Copenhagen. The unit is responsible for developing the framework for the production, transport and use of hydrogen, PtX fuels and biofuels and for building up the new sector. We are approx. 25 employees. The colleagues have a wide range of expertise from both economists, lawyers, engineers and generalists. We attach great importance to good, close cooperation, and we help each other. We are a unit with many different skills - and we have in common that we are all passionate about the green transition. With us, you will experience a culture with high ceilings and a strong team spirit. A good mood and cooperation are important - also in a fast-paced everyday life. We get on well together socially and there is a good opportunity to participate in e.g. Friday bars and other social events with the rest of the board.
