We are moving fast and are therefore looking for a senior physician responsible for training for the Anesthesiology Department, Zealand University Hospital, Køge

The Department of Anesthesiology is a department with a focus on teaching a wide range of medical staff. It ranges from medical students to introductory doctors and doctors in main training to specialist doctors.
The department in Køge provides training for internists (4 units), main training in anesthesiology (6 HU1, 2 HU2 and 2 HU4) per year. In addition, main education applicants are accepted in the specialties Emergency Medicine and Dentistry/Mouth/Jaw. The position is characterized by the opportunity for you to put your personal stamp on the development of teaching in the department, and a high degree of independence is expected in the position.
You will be part of a team of highly experienced specialists who cover an operating room with many complicated operations. Our focus is a continuous optimization of the entire patient process, and we each have a professional area of responsibility. In addition, we emphasize a good working environment and a strong team spirit.
The department has 15 rooms and serves the following specialties: surgery, orthopedic surgery, ENT, TMK and plastic surgery. In addition, operations are also carried out in 5 rooms in the day surgery section. We are working towards a large unified department in the new hospital in Køge in 2027.
All the doctors in the department are on duty, and therefore have a great deal of interaction with the rest of the department.
We are looking for a senior doctor there
Interested in training the wide range of doctors who need to acquire anesthesiological knowledge at several levels
Both have experience and an interest in education, and who can be at the forefront of education in anesthesiology and intensive therapy. Experience with simulation training will be an advantage
We expect that
You are a senior physician who has the ability to lead a culture in the department with a focus on education and communication. There will be full management support for this
You will organize the training and, together with the department's specialists and junior doctors, teach and supervise the doctors seeking training
You will create a good educational environment with a focus on learning both technical and non-technical skills
Your focus area
Will primarily be related to training, but in addition you will have your regular time in the operating room
Participate in networks with other senior doctors responsible for education at SUH, including especially at the sister department in Roskilde.

Department of Anaesthesiology
The Department of Anesthesiology is a growing department, both in relation to the clinical activity, increasing complexity linked to ongoing recruitment of highly specialized functions, training and not least research. Organizationally, the Department of Anaesthesiology, SUH Roskilde, and the Department of Anaesthesiology, SUH Køge, have had joint department management since March 2019.
The main tasks are
High-quality treatment and care for SUH's patients in anaesthesia, perioperative pain management, surgery, intensive therapy and complex non-malignant pain conditions
Pre- and postgraduate training of doctors and nurses within the anaesthesiological/intensive specialty
Research within the thesis
The department is characterized by good interdisciplinary cooperation internally and externally. We work in a changing everyday life, both due to many acute patient procedures and due to major and minor changes, which are steps on the way in the hospital's development to a large university hospital, which will accommodate the region's highly specialized treatments and bring together the associated professional specialties.
It is a large department with approx. 500 employees, of which approx. 85 doctors. The latest evaluations from the doctors seeking training are at the top, and in both 2021 and 2022 we were named the best training department in Denmark, just as we have been the best evaluated anesthesia department for training medical students for several years. There is excellent cooperation in the medical group, which is flexible and sees solutions and development opportunities

The department in Køge is divided into 2 operating theaters and 1 day surgery operating unit, 1 recovery unit and 1 intensive care unit.
Annually, approx. 13000 interventions. There are 9 places in the intensive care unit.
The department is research-heavy with a clinical research unit with approximately 35 employees, including 2 research lecturers and 2 professors. The section is led by our chair professor.
Salary and terms of employment
Salary and terms of employment according to the applicable collective agreement for senior doctors.
The specialists are part of the department's rear guard team. The guards are present and staffed with one forward guard Monday to Thursday and 2 rear guards all days of the week. There is a split shift with normal daytime work until either 15.15 or 18.00. Evening/night shifts from [phone removed].
