The Department of Political Science at the University of Copenhagen is one of the largest and best-ranked political science departments in Europe. The institute conducts world-class research and attracts the best students from all over the country. The department is an integral part of the Faculty of Social Sciences. As head of department, you will be given overall responsibility for the department's operations in terms of research, education, administration and finances. You must support that the department's strong research and education profile is maintained and expanded. You are also expected to get involved in the department's work and study environment, so that the department is a good place to be for all employees and students. You report to the dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and become part of the faculty's management team: it is an important task to participate actively in the faculty's overall management, both in cooperation with the faculty's employees and with the rest of the University of Copenhagen. You are a recognized researcher at at least lecturer level within the institute's disciplines or adjacent disciplines, you have a good knowledge of the university world and can navigate a Danish administrative tradition. We expect, among other things, that you have management experience and are a transparent and empathetic personnel manager with a listening and involving management style. You have a national and international outlook, and you have a good national and international network.
