The institute provides individuals and groups, e.g. Defense chiefs and authorities, access to research-based knowledge about management and organizational development in a military context and contribute to the translation of this knowledge into practical application. Our professional starting point is based on research and experience with military management and organization. We see organizations and processes in organizations as potentially complex and also have a holistic and relational perspective on management in the gap between renewal and stability and between relationships and results. Good management in the Defense Forces is described in the Defense Management Foundation and is based on the assumption that management always takes place in a balancing act between several often conflicting demands, expectations and logics. We are located at Svanemøllens Barracks on Østerbro. We are a unit that works together to create strong solutions. About the position You will be part of a section that delivers the professional contributions within management and organization on our Master in Military Studies (MMS), the Armed Forces' command courses and HR and management concepts. As a specialist consultant, you will have a key role in a section that is responsible for the managerial and organizational contributions to the evaluation, development and implementation of the Armed Forces' policies, strategies, systems and concepts in the HR and management area. Based on solid research-based expertise, you will be able to advise the Armed Forces in the development of HR and management policies, systems and tools and be able to take on independent project management responsibilities in the evaluation, development and implementation of these. A core task for you will be, among other things, further development of the Defence's competence development and assessment system (FOKUS). This is a concept that has existed in the Armed Forces for a long time and where there is a need for us to update and adapt it to the changing reality of the Armed Forces and the correspondingly changed needs and requirements. In your work, there will be interfaces and collaboration both in the form of working groups with representatives from the Armed Forces authorities and in the development and implementation in collaboration with users. About you We expect you to have good collaboration skills with experience from evaluation, development and implementation of policies, concepts and systems. We would very much like you to have experience from a public organisation. You thrive on working independently and, for example, taking on project management responsibilities and at the same time being part of a professionally strong group with many different skills. You thrive on close coordination of your tasks both with management and colleagues. Presumably, like us, you are concerned with management and organizational development and what is moving within both research and practice in relation to management challenges in a politically controlled organization with complex and often conflicting considerations and requirements. You are also concerned with the development of a military profession and organization so that it constantly meets and in some areas is ahead of developments in management and organization. Your background: You have a relevant social science education at master's level or higher and possibly further education which documents a solid professional starting point, e.g. project manager, process facilitator, etc. This could be, for example, psychology, sociology, anthropology, M.Sc. merc., but it can also be other educations with similar expertise. You are passionate about working from a solid professional point of view based on research-based knowledge with a clear intention to create the greatest possible difference for and with practice in a politically controlled organization, where pragmatic solutions must be found to competing wishes and requirements for tasks
the electronic solution. You have experience with evaluation and development processes from a public organisation. Regarding evaluation, you have experience with both qualitative and quantitative methods. You are good at communicating in both written and spoken form and are concerned with imparting knowledge based on how you best meet the relevant target group for the dissemination. This can be, for example, in the development of teaching materials or as a teacher on our courses. The Ministry of Defence's agencies and authorities are located throughout the kingdom and you must be prepared for the fact that there may be travel activity associated with the position, typically of 3-5 days' duration. Terms of employment The employment takes place in accordance with the agreement in force at all times between the Ministry of Taxation and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state (Academic Agreement). Depending on your qualifications and competences, it is possible to negotiate supplements. An employer-funded pension scheme is attached to the position. The workplace is in Copenhagen. As an employee under the Ministry of Defence, you are covered by some special conditions. You must, among other things, could be security cleared and maintain the security clearance throughout the employment relationship. As an employee, you have a duty to perform service outside the country's borders, including with units in international operations with a view to participating in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peacemaking, humanitarian and other similar operations. ABOUT THE DEFENSE ACADEMY At the Defense Academy, we train future leaders in the Armed Forces so that they become some of the most talented in NATO. Our courses are rooted in the military profession within both the Army, the Navy and the Air Force, as well as the elements that cut across the three services. The training spans the basic sergeant and officer training in one of the three defenses or as a language officer, over further training courses and individual courses for the Armed Forces employees, to Masters in Military Studies. All higher education is based on research in our three core areas; military operations, military strategy and military leadership, which are handled by the academy's five institutes.
