Then the job as an engineer in the Danish Energy Agency's CCS office might be something for you! The Danish Energy Agency's Center for Green Supply The CCS area is a newer cornerstone in the Danish climate effort, which requires further development in the coming years. Join us on the journey to realize the goal of a 70 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. The climate agreement from June 2020 states that the capture and storage of CO2 (CCS) is an important part of the goal of a 70 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. Overall, approx. 37 billion kroner for CCS in Denmark, which the CCS office must design and offer, and which must realize the goals for greenhouse gas reductions in Denmark. CO2 storage in Denmark is an important part of this. In the coming years, a number of actors in Denmark expect to start exploratory drilling with a view to storing CO2 in the Danish underground. The CCS unit, which counts 27 skilled employees, is characterized by professionalism, pace and a challenging everyday life with a high degree of freedom under responsibility and professional development opportunities. What can you expect in the position? You will be part of our storage team, which primarily works with issuing permits for exploration and geological storage of CO2 as well as supervising and handling cases within the existing permits. Your work will, among other things, consist of assessing applications for use of the subsoil and its resources and ensuring that, e.g. deep drilling and other work is carried out safely and appropriately. You will have to work closely with good colleagues in the team, the unit and with other offices in the Danish Energy Agency that deal with the underground. You will also have to cooperate and be in dialogue with the companies that have the permits, the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Supply's department, other ministries and interest organisations. In addition, you must like working in a politically controlled organization where the political winds keep the sails moving. A good mood and cooperation are important. Also in everyday life where the pace is high. We get along well socially, and there is the opportunity to participate in Friday bars and other social and professional events with the rest of the unit and the board. It is possible to work at home to a certain extent, and we have good flexibility in relation to working hours. Who we are looking for You are an engineer or similar preferably with several years of experience with work related to the underground. We know that experience with CO2 storage is rare, so if you have experience from, for example, geothermal or oil and gas, we are also very interested. It is an advantage if you have experience with drilling and wells, and have knowledge of well integrity and completion of wells (P&A). We also emphasize knowledge of risk assessments, e.g. The ALARP principle, and possibly experience with management systems.
