Job Description

Are you a reliable manager with knowledge of material logistics tasks, do you prioritize being a good manager who takes decision-making responsibility and can keep many balls in the air, and do you have the courage to put yourself at the head of a workshop with experienced and dedicated employees? If this is you, then you may be on your way to becoming our new manager of the workshop (L/VÆR) at the Emergency Management Agency Zealand (BRSS). About us BRSS is one of BRS's five conscription-trained emergency response centres. The center is responsible for the operational state rescue tasks on Zealand and a number of fixed islands. The coverage area includes approx. 2.5 million citizens. BRSS maintains a 24/7/365 emergency response, so we are ready to support other emergency response authorities and partners. Historically, BRSS is the emergency response center with the most operational efforts, which is typically distributed proportionally equally between assistance to the municipal rescue services, the police and the food authorities respectively. We are approx. 50 employees with different professional backgrounds and functions at the emergency centre. In addition, they add approx. 10 colleagues who support us with canteen and establishment operations. Alongside the handling of our operative tasks, we annually train approx. 125 conscripts for rescue specialists, most of whom are accommodated at the center during their entire military service. BRSS contributes to BRS's other tasks, including international missions, capacity development projects as well as advice and training of external partners. BRSS also carries out a large number of other activities within national and international preparedness, incl. advice and training of external partners in preparedness subjects. BRSS is led by a management group consisting of a department manager, a staff manager, a logistics manager and a training manager. About the position The workshop is part of the Logistics Center (LOGC) at BRSS, which in addition to the workshop houses an operational pillar with specialists in e.g. drone readiness and means of communication, as well as a unit for the supply of vehicles, tools and clothing. LOGC is a dynamic unit with approx. 15 employees with different professional backgrounds. Your five future colleagues at the workshop consist of, among other things, of mechanics, senior sergeants and constables. As L/VÆR, you will be responsible for the workshop, including the day-to-day management and prioritization of staff resources and tasks as well as coordination with other units at the centre. We are currently busy optimizing our operations and are currently testing different operational management concepts. You will contribute to the further development of this work. It will require you to have good leadership skills, planning skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time. It would be an advantage - but not a requirement - that you have prior knowledge of operational management and LEAN as well as possibly for SAP/DeMars and other systems used in the Ministry of Social Security and Emergency Preparedness and in the Ministry of Defence. You must have an interest in engineering, logistics and supply, good communication skills and be a natural leader. Your main tasks will include: · Management of the workshop · Inventory control responsibility · Maintenance manager · Contact person for the Defense Materiel and Procurement Agency (FMI) in relation to the maintenance and repair tasks at BRSS · Project management at LOGC. As L/VÆR you will also be part of a management team at LOGC, which consists of the Chief and Deputy Chief of LOGC, Head of Supply and you as L/VÆR. The detailed role and distribution of responsibilities between you and the others in the management group is agreed on the basis of, among other things, your skills and professional wishes. If you have the necessary emergency preparedness skills, there may be also be an opportunity to be able to be part of the emergency response at BRSS in the future. About you You have good collaboration skills and leadership qualities, which you actively use to motivate, create understanding for the task, and to get everyone to pull in the same direction. You are skilled at structuring an everyday life that is characterized by unpredictability and you take pride in a well-run workshop that always meets its deadlines. You are a chief sergeant or an experienced senior sergeant, possibly with the desire to enter into a training agreement regarding appointment as chief sergeant. Or perhaps you are the manager of a workshop in a sector other than preparedness and defence, and want to try your hand at new challenges. Perhaps you are a trained mechanic yourself, and you are not shy about giving in any case
a hand in the workshop. You are a positive, committed and solution-oriented person who has an interest in the field of emergency response, and especially the maintenance and development of equipment and rescue vehicles. You have a flexible, analytical and independent approach to problem solving. You lead with credibility, respect and recognition among experienced people who solve their tasks independently. Terms of employment The position is a chief sergeant position on collective agreement terms. Salary etc. is regulated by the Joint Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Central Organization of Teachers and CO10 – Central Organization of 2010 in force at any time and the Organizational Agreement between the Ministry of Defense's Personnel Board and the Central Association for Stamp Personnel of the line and the reserve as well as students in the Ministry of Defense with associated authorities, and addendum of 6 January 2025 entered into between the Central Organization of 2010, the Central Association for Stamp Personnel and the Ministry of Finance. The position can be filled by a senior sergeant with good development potential. If you do not meet the education requirement, you can be employed on a training agreement, where you undertake to complete relevant education requirements. Remuneration takes place according to the salary level of the position. Appointment to chief sergeant can take place when educational requirements are met and the general requirements for appointment are met. When applying for a new position in the National Emergency Management Agency under the Ministry of Social Security, negotiation of personal allowances must be included in the employment procedure in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. Your permanent place of employment is Næstved. As an employee of the National Emergency Management Agency, you are covered by some special conditions. Among other things, you must be able to obtain security clearance and maintain security clearance during the entire employment process. Contact and application If you want to know more about the position, you are very welcome to contact Head of LOGC Michael Rasmussen on phone [phone removed]. If you have questions about salary and terms of employment, you can contact HR consultant Mette Sihm at the Ministry of Defense's Personnel Board on phone [phone removed] or by email [email protected] application. The application deadline is 11 April 2025 and interviews are expected to be held continuously. The position is to be filled on 1 May 2025 or as soon as possible.
