Do you want to help lead and develop the specialized youth area and contribute to Faxe Municipality's children and young people achieving the best conditions and prerequisites to manage further into adulthood?
We have been given the opportunity to upgrade management in the specialized children's and young people's area, so that there is room for more present management in the area of authority and the realization of the comprehensive development and recovery plan that we are working with in the specialized children's area in Faxe Municipality.
The Child and Youth Counseling in Faxe Municipality is therefore looking for a committed and competent Head of Department for the Youth Area to lead and develop the work in a department that makes a difference in everyday life for the municipality's children and young people. The department is part of the Family Area in the Center for Children, Young People and Families and plays a central role in offering advice and support to children and young people and their families in a challenging time.
About the department
You will be the head of a future youth team in the Children and Youth Counseling department, which is a department in the family area of the Center for Children, Young People and Families. In addition to Child and Youth Counselling, the family area consists of Reception and Disability, Early Prevention and the Family and Youth Initiative, which is carried out by the municipality itself. Overall, the entire Family Area consists of just over 100 employees. You will become part of the family area's management team with the Family Manager and 4 department managers besides you. You will report to the Family Manager. At the same time, you will be part of the overall management group in the entire Center for Children, Young People and Families of approx. 60 managers, where we collaborate across both the general area and the specialized children's area to ensure wholeness and coherence in the lives of children and young people.
The department for the youth area is a newly established department, and you can therefore help shape it yourself, and you will have around 11 skilled and committed advisers as well as a coordinator.
Depending on your profile, there may also be a daily and professional responsibility for the 3 lawyers who belong to the Family area.
About the position
As head of department, you will be responsible for the newly established youth area, including coordination, operation and further development of the department's efforts. Your role includes personnel management, professional management, sparring and development as well as financial responsibility for the area.
Your primary areas of responsibility will be:
Management and development: You lead and motivate a team of skilled advisers and a coordinator. You ensure a good working environment and promote the employees' professional development.
Development and Recovery Plan: You have joint responsibility for ensuring that the Family Area's Development and Recovery Plan is followed and that the development measures are fully implemented. This also includes active participation in the Task Force of the Danish Appeals Agency and the Danish Housing and Social Affairs Agency.
Professional sparring and advice: You are the professional leader for the Youth Area and ensure high quality and with a focus on the intentions of the Children's Act. Together with the coordinator, you ensure professional quality and compliance with the law in case processing
Strategic development: You contribute to further developing efforts in the area and implement relevant strategies and measures.
Cross-functional collaboration: You work closely with other departments in the Center for Children, Young People and Families and in the Family area, as well as important collaboration partners such as schools, PPR and other authorities such as the UU guidance and the specialized adult area.
Financial responsibility: You are responsible for the department's budget and ensure that resources are used effectively.
Your profile
We are looking for a manager with the following qualifications:
Relevant education such as social worker or lawyer and with relevant further education
Relevant management experience from children and young people in the area of authority.
Professional knowledge of social work with children and young people, including legislation and practice in the field.
Experience with personnel management and team development.
The ability to work strategically and make decisions based on both professional and financial perspectives.
Strong communication skills and good cooperation both internally and externally.
Appreciative and trusting management style.

Salary and terms of employment
The position is basically a full-time position, and salary and terms of employment will be determined according to the applicable collective agreement and qualifications. The position starts on 1 May or as soon as possible.
