Together with us, you can help ensure a future-proof electricity market that can facilitate the expansion with renewable energy and the phasing out of fossil fuels. As a lawyer in the electricity wholesale market team, you will work with the legal framework in the electricity sector, where the focus is on the green transition, security of supply and cost efficiency, and where there must be a significant expansion with renewable energy and an increased use of electricity in society. The electricity market is a complex and technical area that is characterized by EU regulations and directives, and as a lawyer in this area you will work to interpret and apply these rules, as well as contribute to the development of new rules at both national and international level. We are therefore looking for a lawyer who is also interested in delving into some of the economic and technical conditions that underlie the law and in that way create future-proof market frameworks. The electricity wholesale market team is part of a unit with a total of 3 teams and approx. 30 employees with different professional profiles such as economists, lawyers and engineers. We solve the tasks and achieve the best results in cooperation, and we make a virtue out of that. You will be part of a unit where job satisfaction, professional knowledge and social interaction are paramount. We get on well together, and in addition to professional ambitions, we prioritize joint activities such as Friday bar, Christmas lunch and summer party etc. About the job In the team, we work i.a. with representation of interests in the EU, preparation of legislative proposals and executive orders as well as legal analyzes and assessments of current energy policy issues, e.g. related to the development of offshore wind. The various legal tasks move within energy and supply law with interfaces to many different areas of law such as e.g. EU law, competition and state aid law, administrative law, company law, etc. Your primary tasks in Team electricity wholesale market will include: Contribution to the negotiation of European legal acts such as the electricity market regulation, the REMIT regulation and underlying legal acts. Preparation of legislative proposals and executive orders with a focus on electricity trading, including implementation of EU regulations and directives. Policy development and ministerial service, including e.g. legal assessments in connection with national and EU legal issues. Case processing and coordination of internal and external inquiries regarding trading on transmission connections, electricity trading, electricity purchase agreements, including regarding relevant EU regulations. In addition, you will also participate in interdisciplinary collaborations and industry dialogue in connection with your tasks. Task solving often takes place across teams, and together with other disciplines in the house. You will be well received - you will receive good training from colleagues, and you will have ample opportunity to put your legal method into play. As a lawyer at the Danish Energy Agency, if you have less than three years' seniority, you will be offered participation in our internal legal training. Here you will get a mentor who is also a lawyer, and a training course over 2-3 years will be planned, which ensures you ongoing sparring and development, so that you become a specialist. About you: Perhaps you have just graduated with a master's degree in law. or cand.merc.jur., perhaps you have a few years' experience, or you are about to complete your education. The most important thing is that you have strong analytical skills, want to learn new areas and also want to familiarize yourself with the economy and technology. In addition, we would like to see that: You are sharp in written and oral communication in Danish and English and like to prepare written materials. Can work independently and solution-oriented and thrives on taking responsibility for managing and organizing work processes and own tasks in a changing work environment with both short and long deadlines.
