Job Description
At the Danish Energy Agency, we work for a greener society and high security of supply. In order to succeed in this transition, it requires active use of data. We are therefore looking for a person to be responsible for the development and operation of our recently implemented data warehouse. About the job Are you curious? Are you detail-oriented, structured and passionate about developing robust data solutions? Then we need you. We are looking for an experienced data engineer who will be part of a strong data team in the department IDD (IT Digitization and Data). The Danish Energy Agency has large amounts of data, which today are used in various contexts and are stored in various systems. As a central element in our digitization strategy, we are in the process of expanding our data warehouse so that more people – both internally and externally – can access data. Our data warehouse is built on-premise with the Microsoft technology stack, and we have established the first data models and integrations. The foundation has been laid, but we must move on. Among other things, we work with data on wind farms, energy labelling, digitization of the supply sector, subsidy pools and management information. Your tasks will include both maintenance and operation of the existing setup as well as identification and implementation of new data sources and data models. You will help design and optimize ETL processes and ensure that data handling meets high standards for quality and security. We attach great importance to work/life balance with flexible working hours and the possibility of working from home. In addition, we have an open and inclusive work culture where we collaborate closely and solve challenges together. About you In order to succeed in the position, it is essential that you have experience in developing data solutions in SQL and can run an on-premise data warehouse solution based on Microsoft technology. The practical operation is handled by Statens It, but you will play a central role in the further development and optimization of the solution. You will have colleagues with experience in SQL, database operation and Power BI, and you will quickly be introduced to our CI/CD processes in GitLab, deployments and existing reporting. We also expect you to: Can translate your understanding of data into useful solutions in close collaboration with professional specialists Is structured in your working method and loves to delve into data Passionate about solving complex data challenges in a strong team Has experience with data modelling, including facts/dimensions and building cubes Is curious and motivated to understand the professional processes that the data solutions must support It is a plus if you have experience with Python and APIs (REST). In order to succeed in the organization, you must have a high command of Danish, both orally and in writing. Salary and terms of employment Employment and remuneration takes place in accordance with the relevant collective agreement for academics in the state as an agent with obligation to be available or specialist consultant depending on experience and competences or other relevant collective agreement. The employment area is the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Supply and associated institutions. Additional information can be obtained by contacting Jacob Marup-Lorentzen on telephone [phone removed]. The Danish Energy Agency regards diversity as an asset and encourages everyone, regardless of personal background, to apply for the position.
