Job Description
A global leader in energy engineering and consulting requires experienced Project Managers with a background in extra-high-voltage, 400kV, 132kV, or 30kV underground cabling for electrical transmission and distribution, having worked with Distribution Network Operators or EV Projects. The manager must have managed end-to-end electrical infrastructure projects from bid to delivery, ensuring safety, financial compliance, and timeliness.Location - Based in Scotland or across UK with travel. The role can be home-based with travel (proximity to Glasgow OR Sussex would be helpful)Circa Salary £70-100k + Car Allow + Bens + Bonus to 20%Key skills required for the Project Manager - Underground Cabling - Transmission or EVProven skills in the Project Management of EHV Underground Cabling electrical infrastructure transmission & Distribution or EV projectsEngineering qualification (HND/HNC) or equivalent industry track record.Project management qualification (APM or similar)Understanding of Engineering principles, CDM/Construction Design and Management guidelines, and Cabling Installation techniques.Recognised SHE qualification (IOSH or NEBOSH).Experience with SSEN, NGET, and other Distribution Network Operators.Strong commercial and contractual awareness, including knowledge of NEC contractsProject Manager - Underground Cabling - Transmission or EV Responsibilities would include:Ensure successful delivery of all project stages of EHV underground cable implementations to meet the key programme milestones.Support and prepare for the mobilisation of new projects.Approve scope of works, plans, and estimates for project elements.Ensure team consistency in project controls, including PMP, QA/QC, and CPP.Manage project resources, risk & change management, EVM analysis, budget control, and cash flow.Promote a high standard of project programming and produce monthly reports.Resolve project issues and challenges effectively.Provide guidance and leadership, acting as a troubleshooter when necessary.Demonstrate effective SHE leadership and promote a strong safety culture.Ensure compliance with NEC Contract terms and conditions, scope of work, and variations log.Manage the Programme of Works, Quality Plan, and Project Risk Register.Uphold company values and standards, demonstrating safety, integrity, and commitment.This is an outstanding chance to join a world-leading engineering consultancy and work on impactful projects, helping to contribute to UK's net-zero 2050 goals.Opus Resourcing acts as an employment agency with respect to permanent employment.
