They are currently looking for a skilled Senior Grid Engineer to join their team for a six-month contract.Job Responsibilities/ObjectivesDesign and build the Grid platform in line with strategic IT architectureManage and maintain the Grid platformOptimize cloud engine performance on Azure and AWS for efficient workload executionMonitor and optimize the deployment of workloads in cloud environmentsDevelop and maintain automation tools using Python and PowershellManage infrastructure expansions and complianceMake cost efficiency recommendationsCollaborate with business, quant and other IT teams to deliver on projectsProvide third-line technical support for the technology platformAct as an escalation point for troubleshooting and resolve production issues.Collaborate with developers to investigate and fix grid-related issues impacting grid applicationsCreate and maintain detailed documentation for processes, tools and troubleshooting procedures.Required Skills/ExperienceThe ideal candidate will have the following:Ability to work in a fast paced high-pressure environment, where stability and reliability is criticalExperience with large scale Grid computing environments 100,000+ cores (DataSyanpse|Tibco GridServer/IBM Platform Symphony or similar)Experience developing and supporting grid applications, using Grid APIs, Java/C#/C++Experience with Azure and/or AWS and coding in Python and PowershellStrong expertise in Tibco GridServer 7.X on Windows ServerLog Analytics (Elasticsearch/SQL/Kibana/Grafana)Proficiency in cloud platforms, specifically AWS and AzureAdvanced Scripting skill using Python and Powershell for automationDeveloper knowledge of Java/C#/C++ with experience in client driver API integrationWindows Server 2019/2022Enterprise monitoring tools, GeneosDesirable Skills/ExperienceAlthough not essential, the following skills are desired by the client:Experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)JenkinsFamiliarity with monitoring and logging tools for distributed systemsIf you are interested in this opportunity, please apply now with your updated CV in Microsoft Word/PDF format.DisclaimerNotwithstanding any guidelines given to level of experience sought, we will consider candidates from outside this range if they can demonstrate the necessary competencies.Square One is acting as both an employment agency and an employment business, and is an equal opportunities recruitment business.
