Job Description
Do you want to try your hand at financial management in one of the country's most exciting organizations with great social importance and public attention? The National Police's Center for IT and Project Economics is looking for student assistants who will contribute to and support the centre's task solving.
About the job As our new employee, you will be part of the National Police's Center for IT and Project Economics, which is responsible for supporting the financial management of the police's largest development projects as well as the police's IT organisation. It is our goal to create a transparent and coherent management of the economy and to ensure that the police's finances and resources are used in the best possible way.
Your tasks will include, among other things, that:
Develop management information for use in financial management of projects and IT operations.
Support the project and IT controllers in relation to monthly and quarterly financial forecasts.
Prepare cross-sectional independent analyzes of, for example, consumption patterns.
Support financial management – e.g. carry out expenditure controls on projects, prepare salary forecasts, reconcile budgets and process inquiries in the function mailbox
Prepare and analyze data on police resource consumption
Prepare written reports on financial controls in collaboration with other colleagues in the centre
Handle systemic tasks, including updating the centre's financial and data models.
That's why you should work for us. You will gain experience with financial management in a large, public institution, and you will be presented with a wide range of financial tasks. You will have ample opportunity to develop new skills, and the tasks will be continuously adapted to your interests and skills. We will continuously make sure to challenge you with new tasks as you become familiar with our work processes and organization.
You will be part of the Center for IT and Project Economics, which consists of almost 20 employees. We are busy at times, but prioritize an informal and collegial tone, strong collaboration and using the individual's strengths in the centre's task-solving. We emphasize dialogue in the execution of tasks and provide thorough guidance and professional sparring with room for you to work independently with your tasks.
Our expectations of you We imagine that you are a student on a higher social science education, but this is not a requirement. The most important thing is that you have an interest and flair for finance and numbers.
You have great commitment and a good mood. You are professionally curious with a great urge to learn and find solutions that work, just as you want to contribute to the positive working environment.
You approach work tasks in a structured manner, and it comes naturally to you to have a strong focus on details. You want to work with finance and its management. You have very good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and have the desire to get to know the police's financial systems.
Salary and terms of employment The weekly working hours are approx. 15 hours. We agree the working hours together - and we are of course flexible when it comes to e.g. teaching and the need for less work in connection with exam periods.
You will be employed on collective agreement terms in accordance with the organizational agreement for office clerks in the state between the Ministry of Finance and HK/STAT as well as the OAO-S collective agreement in force at all times.
Your place of work will be the National Police with an address at Polittorvet 14, 1780 København V. It is a prerequisite for employment that you can be security cleared, just as you must be able to maintain the security clearance throughout your employment.
The National Police has smoke-free working hours.
