Job Description

Would you like to help develop and make a difference for our students and the local business community? Do you dream of helping to form the competent employees of the future for the e-commerce industry? Then maybe it's just you we're looking for.
In the Business and IT department at the UCL Business Academy and College of Professional Studies, we are looking for an assistant professor/lecturer per 1 August 2025 for teaching on our professional bachelor's degree in e-commerce.
The job
The central focus of the position is teaching future e-traders and developing the field - in close collaboration with research environments and business.
Your primary tasks will be teaching the subjects E-commerce technologies, Data analysis and Advanced Digital Marketing as well as guiding students in their internships and towards their bachelor's degree. There is a large focus on data on the course, so we would like you to have a great deal of insight into the data-based area, both theoretically and system-technically. In addition, you will be involved in various projects and tasks with development and research related to the field.
Depending on your skills, there will also be opportunities for tasks within the area's other education programs. You can read more about us here.
About the education
The professional bachelor's degree in e-commerce is a one-and-a-half-year extension to several business academy courses, which lead to a career in e-commerce, digital marketing and content creation.
The students learn to work with various e-commerce technologies and become sharp in digital business understanding, customer experience, creative content, data analysis, Google Analytics, SEO, Affiliate marketing, advertising, omnichannel and digital marketing on e.g. social media.
You can read more about the Bachelor of Professions in e-commerce program here.
Your profile
We are looking for a teacher who is passionate about working with e-commerce and has strong skills in the technical and digital part of e-commerce.
You can work with PIM, platforms for permission marketing and digital advertising and are familiar with a CMS and can integrate services and automations for e-Commerce platforms. You must also very much like to have used or have insight into various AI tools and their possibilities within the field, as well as have experience in building webshops in e.g. Shopify and Wordpress.
We want you to have experience with digital marketing via Google Ads and Metas Business Suite.
In addition, we want

that you have a Master's degree, or that you have a BA degree and are willing to undergo upgrading to Master's level
that you have relevant work experience and have worked with e-commerce technologies and digital marketing in practice.
that you have a high level of understanding and knowledge within the technological and digital side of e-commerce and can convey this knowledge to the students who do not yet have an understanding of high technology

You will be part of a teaching team with competent colleagues, where you collaborate on learning activities and ensure the framework for a good study environment.
It is not so important that you have teaching experience, but you must be a team player, and we expect you to contribute and take initiatives for pedagogical and professional renewal.
You must also have strong relational skills, be able to communicate clearly and be able to prioritize the student's learning.
About us
You will be part of the Business and IT department with 55 employees and 1,100 students spread over fifteen programs - and you can expect:

A position where you develop broadly and work closely with the department's other courses
An everyday life with great flexibility and great responsibility for the development of the courses
A job where you draw on and continuously maintain your contact with the profession
A varied working day with both teaching and development tasks
A working environment where we support each other, challenge each other and laugh together

Employment
You are employed per 1 August 2025 and your working hours will be an average of 37 hours per week.
Your primary place of employment will be in Seebladsgade in Odense C, but meetings and teaching activities may occur at UCL's other addresses.
The appointment takes place in accordance with the current collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Central Organization of Academics
tion (AC) and Executive Order No. 1458 of 24 June 2021 on the position structure for teachers at business academies, vocational colleges and Denmark's Media and Journalism College.
The position is covered by the principles of New Wage.
If you are employed as an assistant professor, you will participate in a lecturer qualification course, cf. executive order on lecturer qualification, lecturer assessment and docent assessment of teachers at business academies, vocational colleges and Denmark's Media and Journalism College. An assistant professor course lasts a maximum of 4 years.
When employed as an associate professor, we would like you to be rated as an associate professor according to the position structure from 2013.
If you have been rated as a lecturer according to previous position structures, you can, by agreement, choose that the appointment takes place on previously centrally determined salary and employment conditions according to the position structure from 2003, which may, among other things, have an impact on the size of your lecturer's allowance as well as the possibility of being appointed as a member of the lecturer's assessment committee.
Alternatively, you can agree on a renewed lecturer assessment according to the current position structure and according to the rules in Chapter 5 of Executive Order No. 673 of 13 May 2020 on lecturer qualification, associate professor assessment and docent assessment, etc. The assessment is made on the basis of a short lecturer request of 8 pages regarding competences within research and development. The request must be submitted to UCL in connection with the employment process. The assessment is decided in 3 - 6 weeks by an external assessment committee set up by UCL. In case of negative assessment, the appointment can be made according to the previous position structure or as an assistant professor with a shortened assistant professor period.
UCL offers guidance in connection with preparing the request.
Application
If this sounds like something for you, send us your application, CV and relevant attachments via ucl.dk/job no later than 15 May 2025.
Continuous interviews will be held, and the process is expected to be completed immediately after the application deadline.
