Job Description
The Department of Clinical Medicine at Aarhus University's Faculty of Health Sciences, Health, is looking for 1 external lecturer for Plastic and Breast Surgery, AUH per 1 September 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is a 5-year part-time position with 50 working hours per semester. Institute of Clinical Medicine As an external lecturer at the Institute of Clinical Medicine, you will be part of probably the largest health science research institute in Denmark. The clinical research covers all the medical specialties and takes place in collaboration with the university hospital and the regional hospitals in the Central Jutland region. We have approx. 30,000 m2 of modern research facilities for experimental surgery and medicine, animal facilities and advanced scanners. The institute has overall responsibility for the master's programs in medicine and in molecular medicine. At the institute, we are approx. 425 scientific staff and the same number of PhD students who collaborate across disciplines. As a clinical or external lecturer, you will work at Aarhus University Hospital or another hospital in the Central Jutland region. You can read more about the department here and about the faculty here.Your tasks As an external associate professor, you contribute to the development of the department's subject area through teaching of high international quality. Your primary tasks are to develop, organize and carry out teaching within the relevant department or unit's specialization and applicable study plan. In your daily work, you have close interaction with colleagues. Your tasks will primarily consist of: Carry out teaching, lectures, courses and carry out exams Carry out guidance (e.g. individual courses, thesis) Organize teaching (e.g. UPL function, electives, individual courses) Contribute to the development of new teaching activities. course) Contribute to a good working environment and a good study environment. As an external lecturer, you undertake to take care of the agreed number of annual working hours, which in this context will basically amount to 50 working hours per term. In addition, employment as an external lecturer requires either relevant practical experience at a high level that has not been obtained through a university, scientific appointment, or employment in a senior scientific position at another university. An external lecturer who is employed by virtue of his relevant practical experience must have in-depth, current knowledge the application possibilities of the subject/subject area.
