We are looking for a student assistant with knowledge of quantitative methods to collect and analyze data from LinkedIn for a limited-term employment for 6 months. About the job In the position of student assistant at the Department of Economics, you will be assigned to the Graduate Analysis project at BSS, which is handled by an internal team consisting of 4 researchers from the Department of Economics. BSS conducts graduate surveys with a view to continuous quality assurance of the quality and relevance of the educations to the labor market. The overall purpose of the project is to investigate where our graduates get jobs after graduation, as well as what types of positions they are employed in. You will contribute to mapping how our graduates perform on the labor market, which can form the basis for strategic decisions and improvement of education offers. You will be part of a dynamic and professionally stimulating workplace and gain good experience with data analysis in a practical setting context. Your tasks will include to: develop and implement solutions for ongoing data collection from LinkedIn and possibly other relevant sources. work with programming in Python, R and similar. clean, structure and analyze data to identify career patterns and trends among candidates. prepare reports and visualizations of the results. collaborate with the team to ensure relevant and useful insight. After agreement with the immediate manager, there will be the possibility that the position can be combined with a Project-based Research Internship ([link removed] )About youWe expect you to have a general interest in programming and in the work with collecting and analyzing data. At the same time, we expect you to want to join and contribute to a professional community where the level of ambition is high. In addition, we imagine that you: have experience with programming (Python, R or similar). Experience with API use or web scraping is an advantage, but not a requirement. is analytical, has experience with data handling and quantitative methods – this would be an advantage, but not a requirement. has an interest in labor market analyzes and recruitment patterns. can work independently, structured and detail-oriented. is in the process of higher education (e.g. economics, finance, data science or similar). Terms of employment You will be employed as a student assistant for a limited period of 6 months. The position is to be filled as soon as possible and no later than 1 May 2025. The workplace is the Department of Economics, Fuglesangs Allé 4, 8210 Aarhus V. The working hours are 9 hours on average per week. During employment, there is the possibility of flexible organization of working hours by agreement with the immediate manager, e.g. in connection with exam periods. Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the current Joint Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Central Organization of Teachers and CO10 – Central Organization of 2010 (LC/CO10 collective agreement), organizational agreement between the Ministry of Finance and PROSA/STAT IT employee (PROSA) in the service of the state, as well as the local agreement in force at any given time.
